The PACK is BACK!
For some, going back to school is the hap-hap-happiest time of the year...for others, not so much. The one thing that holds true, regardless of the feeling for the upcoming school year, is that it is also backpack season. There is no doubt backpacks can be fun, stylish, and very useful. On the flip side of all that good comes the great potential to create and/or contribute to spinal health problems and vertebral subluxation complex (VSC).
Spinal health problems and VSC do not always have to be immediately painful or symptomatic. Wearing an overly heavy or improperly packed backpack will contribute to spinal health problems and VSC. This can create and/or contribute to many different health challenges including (but not limited to) pain and discomfort, headaches and migraines, poor posture(which the research shows leads to all sorts of other health complications), lack of focus concentration, and many other issues.
Knowing all this, I have put together the Top 10 Backpack Safety Tips for you and your family. These tips apply for children and adults alike so make use of as many as possible. Keep in mind that not all backpacks are created equal, so it is possible that some of these tips will not apply to your situation.
